I have nerve damage to the bowel, which is driving me mad. I take codeine occasionally and diastop everyday to try to deal with the constant diahrea. This either works slightly or I end up not being able to 'go' and have terrible abdominal pain. I also have hemoroids, which this condition agrevates. I am often scared to go out with the fear of being caught out without a loo handy. Hence, i no longer work and although I am a homebody, I also deal with depression, dealing with all my health issues. I am type 1 and have been for 19ys. If anyone else also has this condition, and they have found something which helps the condition, I would love to hear from you. Jo xxx

Hi BeverleyJo,
I'm curious, have you spoken with your doctor about these symptoms you are having? Your doctor can help you find the root cause and possibly treat it, instead of you having to deal with it, and be constrained to the home in response.
Here is some information about IBS that may help you advocate for your health with your doctor: National Digestive Disease Information Clearinghouse: Irritable Bowel Syndrome
Good luck, and please let us know what your doctor said.
