The human yoyo. Stop using the word diet!

By February 16, 2013 - 6:16pm

I have been the human yoyo all my life. Weight Watchers at 12 and every other "Diet" in between.
Perimenopause added 20 pounds and a horrible break up dropped 30. Finally, I stopped using the word diet and changed my thought pattern about my weight, my looks and my life. I am allergic to wheat and will risk the rash, like I did the other night, for some amazing concoction called Monkey Bread, leaving me itchy, puffy, constipated and depressed for a few days, but hey...perfect is boring and life is short. Making conscious decisions about what goes into my body 80% of the time gets me into my skinny jeans and that inspires me to keep making conscious decisions.
Letting go of the idea that it was about struggle and deprivation has been the best thing I ever did for my body and my mind.

Hey Susan,

Thank you for reading and responding.
I tried to respond to your other comment about single mothers but pressed the wrong button and....cyber ether!!

Here is what i am learning...stress isnt in the action its in the reaction. What would life be like if we all let go of the idea of struggle and deprivation in all aspects of our lives? Awesome is what that would be like.
Have a great day
A
