Dr. Larry Scherwitz specializes in the interaction of phsychophysiology (mind-body medicine) and lifestyle, and how they can overcome heart disease and obesity. He is devoted to the reversal of heart disease through lifestyle changes, without the use of either drugs or surgery.

Dr. Scherwitz has pioneered research that has uncovered seven newly discovered eating styles that are associated with obesity, overeating and overweight. This research was published in "Explore: The Journal of Science and Healing".

Dr. Scherwitz:
The heart disease risk factors are elevated blood pressure, elevated serum cholesterol, particularly LDL cholesterol, smoking, lack of exercise, stress, diabetes, being overweight, genetics are all risk factors, and hostility, anger, depression, anxiety also increase stress on the heart.
