The writer of the Orac blog doesn't think much of Dr. Mehmet Oz. He sees Dr. Oz' popularity with Oprah, and his positive view of Reiki and alternative therapies as being evidence that Dr. Oz is as bad as Deepak Chopra and almost as bad as Joe Mercola.

This is all pretty interesting to me. I had never heard of this writer till today. I have some familiarity with Dr. Oz and have heard of Deepak Choprah. And I have read enough of Joe Mercola -- who is actually Dr. Joe Mercola by the way -- to try some of his suggestions and, by golly, found that my health improved. I guess I am as bad as Dr. Oz.

"While much of what Dr. Oz promotes is actually science-based medicine, it is adulterated with pseudoscience, or, as I can't resist saying, he 'integrates' pseudoscience with science-based medicine, making him an excellent example of a practitioner of 'integrative' medicine."

If you question the validity of integrative medicine, you will perhaps enjoy the Orac blog.
