Tea had been consumed for thousands of years. Not only can tea be a tasty drink, but it also has many health benefits ranging from mental health, heart health, maintaining a healthy weight, fighting disease and maintaining overall well-being.

All varieties of Chinese tea come from the plant Camellia sinensis. According to Teavana, the different types depend on the area the tea is grown, the time it is harvested and the way it is processed.

Weight Loss

Tea is often considered a soothing beverage. Studies show that in addition to soothing the body, drinking tea can also make the mind more alert. L-theanine, an amino acid, helps the brain focus, nursingdegree.net said. The combination of a relaxed, yet alert body can help while accomplishing tasks.

Teas can also have calming effects. Drinking tea has been proven to reduce stress, especially for people suffering nervousness and anxiety.
