I just had "Her Option" cryo ablation of my endometrial lining four days ago for heavy bleeding, cramps, anemia with my periods. I'd like to know if there are any other ladies out there who have had this procedure and their experience. Didi it work for you? Did it help with PMS too?

I think it's time for a 2nd opinion. Are you running a fever? You would want to rule out infection. Two months seems like a long time to wait for things to settle out. Just a suggestion. DC

Hi Everyone, I'm 47 with one child and will be celebrating my 20th wedding anniversary next month. I've been reading all your postings about your experience with the cryo ablation. I had my 3rd ultrasound/saline procedure done last month. April 13th - seen my dr for options cryo ablation vs hysterectomy. He recommends cryo ablation. I have a history of periods that last full 7 days (heavy). At sometimes I spot 3 days before and then start my flow. As I've gotten older my periods are heavier and sometime I have two cycles a month. Then I missed a month then yes here I go again. It's crazy. 2004 I had an enlarged polyp that was causing me to pass what I call (a piece of liver). Currently I have combination of 11 fibroids/polyps enlarge uterus. Just reading your post has me thinking ... about the watery discharge ... I'm like oh great!!! Dr didn't mention anything about this .... I’ll be asking the nurse now when she call to schedule my date. Any comments would really be appreciated.

Hi, it's Diane C. from another post. I have had good luck so far. To me it just seems that the healing and outcomes are so unpredictable. They are as different as all of us! If you're a busy person I would go with Cryo, but I have nothing to compare it to. I've had friends who have had hysterectomy as well as the ablation procedure using heat. I'm sure this wasn't very helpful, but I think it's important that we're here for each other. Diane C.

This is Diane C. here...I have had what I believe to be my first period post H/O and I am thrilled to say it was just spotting for 4 days. I'm not letting my guard down just yet, mind you, but I will continue to to keep you posted. I go for a final follow up in two weeks. Talk to you then...Keep holding on!

Hi everyone- It has been so helpful reading all your posts. I would like to share my experience so far. I had a D&C done Feb 2nd and I had the Her Option done March 3rd. I did have a lot of cramping that day but took pain pills. I still have the same watery discharge and light cramps since the procedure. I started my period about 2 weeks after and it was the worst ever. Bright red and it just poured out. I was miserable and wondering if it was worth it. Well it is April 6th and still need panty liners but not bad at all. I am not sure when my next period will start I think around the 15th. I am praying it is not as bad. I have my Dr. Appointment on the 28th so I will find out how I am doing. I'm not quite sure what is normal anymore. Like many of you I am sick of wearing pads everyday. I know this group has been so helpful to me so I will post all further changes so I might help someone also.

Cheryl, How was your second period and those that have followed since April? I had the procedure done on Dec 18 and started my period 3 days later--the period itself was not too heavy but it hasn't stopped yet! I'm on day 11 today and don't know how much longer I should be having a flow. Thanks! Kristen

Ok latest update is not very promising. Started my second period since the procedure March 3rd and it is just as bad as the first. I am leaving soon for Easter dinner with all the family and I just don't want to go. I will be in the bathroom constantly. At this point I would rather of had a hysterectomy even though I don't know the details involved in that. The kicker is I leave on a cruise next month on the exact day I started my period!! The DR. mentioned hormone pills to get me through my vacation but again I do not know anything about taking hormone pills and what effects it will have on me. Any comments would really be appreciated. Happy Easter everyone,
Cheryl

Hi...it's Diane C. I had my post op check up a couple days ago (internal) and it went well. My doc put me on a short course of antibiotics because I had a temp of 99 and some tenderness still. I think the temp was unrelated, but better safe than sorry. She wants to see me in a month. The watery discharge has stopped almost completely...just in time for my first period next week. I feel like I've been wearing a pad forever! I'll let you all know how the first period goes (I'm really nervous) and my final visit next month. Good luck to everyone.

Hi Diane, i am Pat i posted up above after reading everyones comments, well i am just stopping the discharge and monday the 30th will be 5 weeks.
when i had my 2 week check up i was not checked internal, i was surprised. I know what you mean on wearing a pad forever that part for me was a nightmare getting up every hour. i have not started my period yet and is it normal? when the dr was doing the procedure it didn't bother me at all, with the nurse there and the ultrasound lady it was easy for me.
My dr had told me that he frozed alot of my lining and that i may not have a period which that would be great for me, since i had this done due to heavy periods. what i have been reading alot of the woman got there periods couple weeks after the procedure. i will wait and see what will happen to me.. I worry to if and when my period will start if i will be at work or at the store so scarey....
Good Luck to all. Pat
