I just had "Her Option" cryo ablation of my endometrial lining four days ago for heavy bleeding, cramps, anemia with my periods. I'd like to know if there are any other ladies out there who have had this procedure and their experience. Didi it work for you? Did it help with PMS too?

Good news for my update on here. The odor did increase (smelled like something rotting)after my post but only lasted about 2 more days - definately didn't want to stand next to anyone for fear they would smell me like another poster here. I felt so dirty. My doc said to call back in three days for exam if it increased or did not decrease but that some women do experience odor. Doc also said to keep as dry and clean as possible. I was using baby wipes to cleanse between urinating and pad changing but began following the baby wipes by blot drying with tissue after I spoke to Doc. I noticed it decreased significantly as soon as I started seeing discharge of the uterine lining - I can only describe the look of the lining as pieces of steamed apple skin - how it is sorta thin and rubbery looking, not real bright red, but not real pale either. So I feel the odor was the watery discharge (probably was puss because your healing like a burn). It got better for me. Now I'm 11 days post procedure, slight cramps come and go but nothing bad. Still have light yellowish discharge but nothing like I was having the first week (like I was peeing my pants). Today I'm feeling bloated and am anxiously biting my nails to see what my first period is going to be like - alot of people on here say it's really bad and a few it's like nothing....hoping for the nothing!!! HANG IN THERE!!!

I would let you doctor know if you have any more odor. I to had odor and yellow watery discharge. They did a culture and it was bacterial vaginosis from the procedure. They said you basically mess up your system by doing it and bacteria can get in there. I was put on Flagyl for 7 days and know I am fine. I would not fool around with it though. I was so embarassed by the odor I didnt even want to stand next to my husband lol.

Im having cryo ablation done on Friday 10/3....my doc says its not a big deal and he says it will end my periods...this may sound corny, but i guess the biggest fear i have is vomiting!! He says i should be fine and i totally trust him but after reading the posts im beginning to wonder again...any more suggestions? i had a c section and a tubal ligation done at the same time 6 1/2 ys ago and the only pain med i took was regular strength tylenol and was able to deal with the pain. Please tell me that this is not as bad as that!!

I had horrible nausea after the procedure (hours) and couldn't keep the percocet down they prescribed for the pain (they didn't mention to me that they dilate your cervix for the procedure which causes cramping). Here's a suggestion, see if they will give you a prescription for phenergan in advance so that you can take one right before you go in (and make sure you eat before you go for the procedure - they said any pain med you take could upset your stomach). I took a valium (the doctor called in) before I went which at least helped relax me. Even though I had a bad time of it, if it works it will be worth it! Hope this helps.

I went for my follow-up last week (exactly three weeks after the procedure). I had the gushing of clear liquid at week two and that lasted for five days. Then it became minor discharge. At my appointment, everything looked good and my doctor did say when I get my period it may be heavier. She was not kidding!! My period started yesterday and I am wearing overnight pads that have to be changed every two hours. I really hope the next period is not like this because it's horrible. I guess my experience with cryoablation is not the norm since I've had so many issues.

Wow. How old is she, if you don't mind saying? That is the first thing my doctor asked me. I was only 33 and he wanted to make sure that I was completly sure I was done having children (I have three). He even asked me if something happened to my husband and I would I still have this done.
I can't believe the doctor didn't tell her that this procedure destroys the lining. I seem to remember the doctor saying something about the chance you can get pregnant but because my husband had a vasectomy, I didn't pay attention.
I hope she is alright after finding out this news.

She is 42 and her marriage is ending so I'm not sure what she's thinking...midlife need for a baby maybe? I don't know. But I think her doctor should be a bit worried!
