As the economy is starting to come back, many families are looking to make the upcoming holiday season one to remember.

While that may mean a ton of toys for some lucky kids, others will get to experience a holiday vacation that will create memories to last a lifetime.

With that in mind, many hotels and resorts across the country are looking to reel in these families with unique holiday offerings.

Check out what five different vacation destinations are offering for the holiday season:

The Breakers, Palm Beach

This jewel of a resort in Palm Beach, Fla. has everything families need and/or want. From a restaurant that boasts a supervised play area for kids, to a fantastic beach and plenty of children's activities, families will not even have to leave the resort.

They will feature Christmas brunches and dinners, photos with Santa, holiday storytelling and festive music during the holidays. They are also offering free breakfast and discounts on kid's meals and day camp.

The Ritz-Carlton Lodge, Reynolds Plantation

This resort, an hour outside Atlanta, Ga. is steeped in southern hospitality, but is also home to an ice-skating rink this winter. With festive activities galore like story-time with Mrs. Claus, gingerbread house decorating, and a holiday train, families can spend time together in this luxurious resort.

Las Alamandas

Why not take the family to Mexico for the holidays? The ultra-rich resort located between Puerto Vallarta and Manzanillo is making sure families get to experience the holidays just as they would at home.

That includes an en suite decorating party complimentary to all guests, including Christmas stockings on December 24. While the price tag at this ritzy resort may be steep, the feel of being a jet-setter with the "in" crowd for a week is priceless.

Disney World

The Disney World resort is family-friendly personified. And this holiday season there are even more reasons to pack up the family and head to Orlando, Fla.

From the opening of the New Fantasyland to the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights to Micky's Very Merry Christmas Party, families will enjoy extra magic during the holidays. Though the resorts can be crowded at this time of year, Walt Disney World is offering great rates and spectacular holiday displays for guests of all ages to enjoy.

Ritz-Carlton Amelia Island

Ahoy! Want to have a swashbuckling good holiday season? Then head to Amelia Island just outside Jacksonville, Fla. Enjoy a spectacular gingerbread pirate ship docked in the lobby, pirate toasts, and even pirate tuck-ins. The beautiful, luxurious surroundings and moderate climate make this an easy-going, fun getaway for the whole family.
