Parents of premature babies can struggle with alot of fears and worries. They may have a tendency to be overprotective of their child who was born prematurely, out of a fear that they are more fragile than other children.

These fears and worries can show themselves even later on in the child's life, when the parents of premature babies may be reluctant to discipline their child. They may hesitate to set limits for their child who was born prematurely, which can have the unfortunate result of setting the child up for a habitual lack of self-control.

Consequently, it's not unusual for children who were born prematurely to grow up to display ongoing behavioral and emotional problems.
