Speaking as a mother of twins myself, I was interested to read how things have changed and how they've remained the same in the past twenty-five years, for women pregnant with twins.

As one might guess, both the excitement and the worries are magnified. So too are the effects of the pregnancy itself. Being pregnant with two babies means more blood volume, more weight gain, more energy drain, and more trouble finding maternity clothes to fit by the last trimester.

The logistics of twin care can be overwhelming. You'll need two of everything. Two cribs, two high chairs, a double stroller, twice as many clothes and diapers. And you will definitiely need more hands. Don't hesitate to seek out extra help.

"Support and education are the best ways for a mother of multiples to prepare for the advent of their babies: education to help yourself and your twins be as healthy as possible, and support to help you get through those first hectic weeks and months of your double blessings. Preparing for twins is almost as exciting as actually holding them – but not quite!"
