I will be having a total hysterectomy October the first. I have hypothyroidism, and diabetes. I know from having surgery last year that my glucose levels will go up somewhat during the recovery process. I know that during my recovery time the doctor's will be having me treat my diabetes as they do during sick days. In some ways, this will also cause some problems with glucose control. I am a pump user, new to this ( less than a month now) and do worry how this is going to affect me.
My thyroid is basically shut down. My medications and so forth take longer to fully work and this sometimes causes problems for me as well. I always realize that I have multiply things going on and have learned that I can't stress our over them or this just make the controlling of my glucose levels even more difficult. My doctor's assure me everything is going to be fine. just may have a longer recovery period than alot of women.
