my grandmother has been diagnosed with gall bladder cancer

She had jaundice and has had her gall bladder drained. Are there any timelines related to recovery? 3-6 months?
Currently she is not in pain. But what can I expect in the near future? What if she needs her gall bladder removed? Then what?
