My recent Pap was abnormal so they screened for HPV and it was negative. The physician's assist. performed a colposcopy. She was not able to view my cervix as it kept bleeding(not coming from the uterus) and she was not able to get any tissue. She said it was a little thin also. Said this could be premenopausal. I am 46. She did perform a an ECC and the results were negative. She wanted me to have a pelvic ultrasound on the 10th day of my next period to possibly see why I may have been bleeding during this procedure. I had one on the 7th day as they couldn't get me scheduled any time near the 10th day. The results of this were a "slightly enlarged uterus". I am not having any menstrual difficulties. My period are regular and not heavy. I do not have any cramping, headaches, etc. My third day is usually heavy and then it's gone by the 5th day. My doctor now wants me to have a D & C. I'm not having any problems. She said the slightly enlarged uterus may be because I've had 2 pregnancies and just plain old muscular atrophy. So why do I need a D & C? I feel like they're not going to "let me go" until they can find something wrong or they're completely turned me inside out!
