Health Events, our wonderful online health events calendar, is filling up with heart-related events for upcoming Heart Disease Awareness month in February.
For those in the Phoenix, Arizona area, Scottsdale Healthcare is offering one-on-one heart checkups during a 45-minute evaluation on Feb. 10, 18 and 26 from 8 a.m. - 11:45 a.m. The evaluations cost $20 per person and are a great opportunity to have a nurse practitioner check your fasting lipid profile, glucose and blood pressure, as well as a measurement of your waist circumference and a calculation of your body mass index. Most importantly, you will find out your 10-year risk of having a heart attack while receiving info on how to reduce your risk of heart attack and stroke.
