It really seems so.
I never had bad acne as a teen. I got zits, but nothing major. Once I hit my 20, my adult acne came and never left.
I am now in my late 30s and still use a topical antibiotic twice a day on my skin.
I eat well, exercise and drink plenty of water, and make sure to cleanse, tone and moisturize daily. I never go to bed with makeup on.
I recently stopped the prescription just to see what would happen and within 5 days, the acne came back. It took a week or more of being back on my medication to see it leave.
The medication (cleocin/clindamycin )works like a dream. My skin is clean and clear. I have seen a dermatologist about this and he said it's not an allergy or the kind of skin care I use. I simply have adult onset acne.
So is this for life? I suppose I'm ok with needing this prescription twice a day. It works very well. But I can't help but think it's very unfair that I beginning to see natural signs of aging AND have acne as well?!
