I have been getting my stomach "zapped" once a week for the past four weeks in an effort to shrink the size of my uterine fibroid. This is a naturopathic treatment that involves an electronic box with frequency adjuster, cords that extend out from the box into electrode-covered gloves and a cup of water.
Sounds odd and scary, huh? Well, the first time it is -- a little.
But I don't feel a thing when I get the procedure done. The worst part is actually when the doctor dips the gloves in the cold water and it touches my stomach. Yikes! She does that a couple of times during my half-hour treatment, along with frequency adjustments by turning the knobs on the box.
I am not sure if this will shrink my fibroid very much. This technique is supposed to yield better results for patients dealing with endometriosis. However, I figured it was worth a shot! I will know if it worked once I am done doing other phases of my treatment & I get another ultrasound done (probably 2 more months).
