Even if she( mother 70 years old) had more than 20 years ago a partial thyroidectomy (due to nodules presence) and since everything was ok since, can we suspect a hashimoto disease now?
She has now a nephrotic syndrom and A high level of TSH ( 26) occured suddenly . the week after TSH went back to normal after taking for couple of days 2 pills of eltroxyne instead of one.
Doctors are suspecting a lupus but no biological proof till now ( biopsie didnt show a lupus) . Do you think a hashimoto disease could occur ? Why this increase of TSH? Even she made a pet scan and thyroid gland was absent...no sign of any cancer in the pet scan.
Few months ago she had a pericarditis with effusion and pleural effusion too. At that time we thought it was viral.
The only thing we have to diagnosis a lupus is a positive ANA : 1/320. whereas other lupus test are negative. thank you for your help
