Dear Anyone who can help,
My name is Rebekah and I have had chronic, terrible pelvic pain for over a month.
I have been through a lot in one month in terms of tests, ultrasounds, evaluations, etc. due to seeming bladder infections that did not go away and then supposedly went away but the horrid symptoms kept getting worse and worse and I had the most horrible "flares" anyone could have of this condition, which my Urologist told me today was Trigonitis.
After being given this diagnosis today, I was kind of in shock. I had already started a blog on Interstitial Cystitis, which I really felt I had due to the ongoing chronic nature of my symptoms.
I also jumped onto the IC Network which was extremely helpful and I got a lot of information.
However, I did not find much on Trigonitis anywhere so far.
My Urologist got irritated and mad at me when I kept insisiting I had IC b/c I had to get the Cystoscopy and he did not want to tell me anything until I had that.
It was not until I had the in office Cystoscopy today that he said that it was not Interstitial Cystitis but Trigonitis.
However, some people have told me that this type of Cystoscopy is not entirely normal and that it is not always accurate.
I had been in so much pain at one point that I was considering suicide but my father and chiropractor talked me out of it.
I have been brave b/c so many other women out there are brave and have been through hell with their pain.
I am trying to learn as much as I can.
Drugs I have been prescribed so far are :Pyridium Plus (Helps somewhat with inflammation and pain, but not a lot), Elmiron (Another Urologist prescribed that to me, but I have horrible side effects and not sure how much it helps), Detrol (which seemed to help right away) and Ultram for pain (I am allergic to Vicodin and Codeine.)
Really, not even prescription Naproxen has knocked out my inflammation and I am truly in terrible pain.
Can you give me some insight?
Thanks,
Gratefully in Seattle,
Rebekah
