This has been one of the most productive weeks that I have had in a long time. I had chemo (Erbitux) this week and thankfully it didn’t affect me too much. I decided to take control of this feeling of being “overwhelmed” and recruited some help from a friend to help me do some things around the house, run errands, etc.
It felt good because not only was she helping me get things in order, but I was able to give her some $$ for all of her help. She has been totally awesome and I feel so much better getting some of the things that I have needed to do out of the way. We were both running around getting things done, I kind of think I overdid it a little because I was exhausted yesterday. The last night that she was here I ended up getting sick. Anyway, I am hoping she can help me again next week because there is still a lot to do.
This past week I have gone out 3 times! Tonight will be the 4th! This is more than I have been out probably in the past 3 months. It feels good to get out and about. I also went to Pilates for the first time in a year. I love Pilates and am hoping that it will help me to increase my strength and endurance. It is a little pricey since I have to do private lessons, but I figured that this is investing in my health. The first time being back at the Village and doing Pilates felt a little strange. It was almost like learning how to do Pilates all over again. My back started hurting and I felt a little sick afterwards, but it passed and I was fine the next day.
The doctor moved my Petscan up to next Wednesday! I am so excited to finally find out what is going on with the chemo and if it is working and how well. I feel like the progress should be as it was a couple of months ago or better. I haven’t had any complications or major pains so I guess we’ll see. This Petscan will really determine how the next couple of months play out. I really need to hear some good news and have a break from chemo. The doctor said he would be able to possibly give the chemo a break if things are going well.
