During the month of April I was asked to write about vision, thus my last three blogs have been about eye health and eye disease. This weekend I had the opportunity to participate in a workshop, that one of my colleagues was facilitating, about the ancient healing rites in Peru.
During the course of the workshop, I was reminded that vision is more that just seeing things with your eyes. Vision can also be interpreted as what you want to create for yourself in life or how to set or readjust the course of your life. During the weekend, I questioned the vision that I have for my life, how has it changed and how I can keep up with my new vision.
The first and probably most important insight I had about my life, is that I have more than one vision for my life. I have a vision about my practice and the workshops that I do and visions about my personal and family life. I also have another about my dreams that are not limited by constraints for time and money.
I thought, with so many visions showing up at one time, it is difficult to focus or figure out what I want to do first. During the weekend I allowed myself time to slow down and really sit with what makes me content and happy. As we progressed through the exercises and activities focused on reconnecting with our inner guidance and the wisdom of nature, I began to reshape my vision.
It became so much more simple and clear. My vision must be centered around what is truly important to me; spending time with friends, family and nature. Connecting with that basic truth helping to guide my decisions is proving to make all the difference in the world.
