Hello!
I'm Mary 62yrs old, mother of two. I have been diagnosed with breast cancer ( LCIS-Lobular Carcinoma In Situ) back in 1992 when I was 42yrs .Then,I was treated with tamoxifen ( 1 pill a day,for 5 yrs), I had a partial mastectomy ,plus radiation.
For 15 years I was carcer free, feeling well until 2008 when I diagnosed with bone metastasis in my left iliac bone. It all started with a terrible pain which did not aloud me to walk properly.
For a year now my treatment is 1 injection/month a drugg called faslodex + 1injection/month of Zometa ,for a year(both medicines). Therefore , I had in total 12 injections of each medicine.
After a year the treatment changed ,as the doctor replace faslodex with femara pill.(again, I take one pill every day)
My question is wheather I should continue to have Zometa injections and how frequent?Drug instuctions says that zometa is for 12 months. Is anyone here who had treatment with Zometa more than one year?Should now continue with an injection every 3 months,in order to be"covered"from cancer?Should I take less mg than 4mg every time?Aredia is not really an option because is not imported here(I'm living in Greece) so its extremely difficult to find it even through hospital..
Thanks in advance for your help...
Mary.
