So I have been battling with this question for women for a while now. The question is do you really want to be skinny?
Now I know I’m not a woman and I know there could be a lot of pressure out there to look a certain way especially in those designer jeans.
But to what extent are you willing to go just to try and mirror what we think is cool in today’s society.
I think we need to stop comparing ourselves to what we see on T.V and what we see in magazines like US Weekly.
Is that how we want our children to feel? That unless they weight 95lbs. like some A-list celebrity then they are not at ideal weight.
I am beginning to feel like American public is one extreme or the other. We are either obese or trying to look too skinny.
What has happened to HEALTHY?
I think we should stop comparing ourselves to the so called beautiful people you see in magazines and t.v. Because that is not reality and what you see is not in most cases real anyway.
The answer is not a crash diet to fit in that dress for one glorious night or think you have to have the same body as Angelina Jolie.
Let’s put that focus and energy into being the best YOU! It might take a little more time and effort on your part, but if you make eating healthy and exercise a part of your lifestyle, you will greatly improve the quality of your life.
But the first thing you need to do is except and love who you are and work with what God gave you. We all came to this world in many different shapes and sizes. Maybe you were never meant to be a size 0, but you sure can always be fit if you want!
So what if you have some curves. Nothing wrong with curves if you can feel good and can stay fit. Take a look at that person in the mirror and don’t compare yourself to anyone else. You are unique and need to focus on just becoming a healthier and happier you.
Ways to drop your clothes size without killing yourself:
1) Strength training
◦For every pound of muscle you burn 50-60 more calories per day AT REST!
◦Releases the “good hormones” in the body to fight off the “bad hormones” that cause fat storage.
◦Muscle is more dense than fat, so therefore takes up less space. Your dimensions will eventually decrease if you increase muscle and burn fat.
2) Stop going on crash diets! This is no way to live. Think about a healthy diet you can maintain. When you starve yourself or not eat for long period of time, your body actually learns how to store fat more efficiently during this period. Ever wonder why many obese people used to be skinny when they were younger? Years of crash diets did a number on their body.
