Hi there. I'm 39 and have been unsuccessfully trying to conceive for a year and a bit. My doctor prescribed me Progesterone orally and I am to start taking it for seven days, then to expect a menstrual period he said. I'm a little confused and I can't bear the thought of going back so soon to wait another hour and a half to ask more questions. I have irregular periods and have been irregular since the very beginning. I never know when I am going to have my period. So he said to start anytime, then stop after 7 days. After reading some preliminary info on Progesterone therapy this doesn't seem right since there is a lot of info stating that you should take it continuously UNTIL you get pregnant? Is this correct? Please help. I'm totally confused...am I supposed to 'wait' for a period, then wait another two weeks and then take the progesterone again for another set of 7 days? He prescribed me 21 pills. Does it spontaneously make me menstruate after 7 days? When am I supposed to have intercourse then? And then when do I check to see if I'm pregnant...sorry for all the questions, but I am totally new to this whole thing. Thanks!
