About 18 months ago I suffered from a recto cele and had a procedure to repair this condition. I had a hysterectomy 14 years previously.
This was done by a gaenocologist and when I went for my 6week check up he was happy that it was a sucess. About four months ago I started developing urinary tract infections and a heavy feeling plus was having great difficulty with emptying my bowel.
Plus I could feel a protrusion when I was standing.
I went to my family doctor who said it was nothing to worry about but I was not happy
so I went back to my gaenocologist and he informed me that I now had a prolapsed vagina so I have just had a sacro spinal suspension with gauze procedure done a week ago.Baring pain in both buttocks I feel much better but am concerned that this may be an ongoing problem in the future as I am 59 years of age.
My mother suffered with prolapse of the rectum which ultimately caused her death last year as she had 2 ops in 3 months to try and fix this debilitating condition.
She was 90 years of age and not strong enough to cope with this.
I am now worried that I may have this path to follow as I grow old.
Do you have any advice
