Prior to my hysterectomy I had a very bad area of necrosis that would not heal with regualar treatment (such as estrogen creams, tablets, etc.) (which also made having intercourse impossible for nearly a year) My doctor tried multiple types and doses. He then sent me to a specialist, that performed the robotic hysterectomy. Because of the necrosis I was told not to have sex for at least 12 weeks post surgery, as the necrosis was healing well. (I was also continuing the estrogen therapy). After 16 weeks I still had not had intercourse as it still didn't feel right so I went back to my Dr., but this time saw a different one. She told me at this point that if I didn't use it I would lose it. That the atrophy had cause vaginal shortening. I am now using a dilater and estrogen therapy (vaginally and orally) Having intercouse is not painful anymore, so the necrosis has healed, but my husband can't even begin to full penetrate. Will this improve and how does this work? Are there any pictures anywhere that I can see what's going on?
