If you’ve ever considered not breastfeeding because you don’t want your breasts to sag, consider this: it’s a myth! Unless you’re planning on having and breastfeeding a baseball team of babies, you likely won’t experience any more sagging than normally would occur with natural aging. Other things that can cause sagging breast tissue (medically known as ptosis) include smoking, multiple pregnancies, and of course, aging.
Mother Nature can be cruel, can’t she? Luckily, there are ways to help “correct” sagging breasts, such as exercising to strengthen and firm the muscles supporting the breasts, finding and wearing well-fitting bras, and surgery.
An article on EmpowHER from April, 2010 discussed something called an “internal bra” that could be implanted and help a woman’s breasts maintain their shape despite environmental impact, and scars would not be any different than experienced in a normal breast lift (just two little cuts under each breast).
