I am 30 years old, and have always had a regular period. Every 28-30 days, lasting 5 days, with a normal "flow". However, these past 2 months have been much different. In January, my period was 4 days late, very light, and lasted an extra day. This month (February), I started spotting 6 days before my period was due, and after 2 days of that, I am bleeding lightly. I'm not sure if my light bleeding is considered spotting, or a period. It's enough to need a pad, but not nearly as heavy as usual. Another weird thing: I had no regular period symptoms, either - no sore breasts, no cramping, etc. I am wondering what is causing this. I am not sexually active, so no chance of pregnancy, and I am also not taking any hormonal / birth control pills. Has anyone else experienced this before? Does this sound like a simple hormonal imbalance caused by stress, or should I be concerned?
