I recently had a procedure due to an anal fissure. The surgery was on 9/1/11 and I still have the tube or string hanging from my rectol area. I take up to 3 sitz baths a day and change out my gauze every time I go to the bathroom. As of yesterday I was feeling a little sick and took a nitetime green alka-seltzer to try to avoid coughing and aching. So this morning on 10/20/11, I took out my gauze and noticed that it's still leaking puss and infection, however, there was a light greenish color around it. I asked my wife to look at it and my wound is closing up and she didn't see anything green around my rectom, anal hole or my wound. Is this normal and should it still be leaking puss and infection? I don't have any signs of a fever like my doctor asked me to keep an eye on nor has the color of it changed to a yellow either, so I am curious if I am okay.
I also wanted to know if it's normal that I'm in so much pain after taking a bowl movement. It's not hard and I have changed my eating habbits to a strict fiber diet but once I go to the restroom, my pain reoccurs and makes me feel like I shouldn't eat anything and just be on a liquid diet. Is this normal?
