My son is about a month old and he has been diagnosed with the above. The ultrasound scan reports the below.
Ultrasound Abdomen
Liver: Normal in size, outline and echotexture. No focal lesions are seen. Hepatic veins, portal vein branches are normal.
Portal: Portal vein, CBD is normal.
Spleen: Normal in size, outline and echotexture. No focal lesions are seen.
Gall Bladder: Normal in distension and wall thickness. Lumen is anechoic.
Pancreas: Normal in size, outline and echotexture. No focal lesions are seen. Pancreatic duct is normal.
Kidneys: Kidneys are normal in size, shape, and outline. Cortical echotexture is normal. Corticomedullary differentiation present. Collecting system appears compact on right side. Gross hydronephrosis noted left side with thinned out cortex. No calculi, focal lesion are seen.
Urinary bladder: Is normal in distension and outline. Wall thickness is normal. No intraluminal filling defects are seen.
No evidence of free fluid/lymphadenopathy is seen.
Diagnosis - Left Gross Hydronephrosis S/O PUJO
The doctor has suggested for another scan before going ahead with the procedure. Please let me know what are the options available so that I can be prepared during this course.
