Hello, I am a 25 year old female who has recently missed a period this past December. Since this has never happened to me before I wanted to seek some advice about stress related to a missed period.
For starters my boyfriend and I do not use condoms, I do not use hormone contraceptives of any kind and never have, I usually get heavy periods but they are usually always on time give or take a day or two, my boyfriend and I use the withdrawal method and I have never missed a period before. The first thing I did was try to rule out pregnancy as recommended which I'm sure I have done since I've taken 8 hpt and they have all been negative and now I'm trying to rule out stress.
I have also examined all the other reasons why a healthy woman like myself would suddenly miss a period and the only one that seemed to make sense was stress. So now my question: If it is stress that causes a missed period then how soon should my period return? Does this simply mean it's just very late? How late could it be before I have to begin to worry?
The month of November things happened that could have gotten me pregnant but I still got my period, it was a few days late and a little heavy and I felt no discomfort or pain like I usually do, but nonetheless it did show up. Could stress cause my period to skip multiple months or should I be looking at other explanations? I have been relaxing my mind about it since stress could be a cause but I still have questions about it...anyone? By the way I'm 2 months late...
