at first my 6 year old had a scaley spot on her scalp which i oringinally thought she had just gotton some very soggy bar soap stuck in her hair. When I examined it closer I noticed that as i tried to remove the white large flakes they where not soggy at all and infact looked more like layers upon layers on dry skinn each about 1/2 to 1 cm in lenght. As I began to flake off the skin her scalp beneath began to bleed. The first doctor she saw dagnosed it as "cradle capp" and prescribed her a ph balancing shampoo for her to us apply every 3 days massaging gently into the affected area of her scalp.
Well the shampoo seemed to work the first couple of times but then the affecte area became larger and was accompanyiend by an exact white layerd flacky area approximatly 1/2 of a cm from the first affected area. The second visit to a different doctor told her grandmother that it was probably exima b/c she was also showing rash itchy patched of skin on the inside of her elbow, an small spot on her hip (which we origanally thought was ring worm, as well as a spot on her genticle area. She had spent some time a a new nighbors house which had dogs and new puppied whom had not had proper vaccinationss.
could all three of these symptoms really just be excima? She have never had any skin problems before...never and these did not appear all at the same time but gradually over the past sevaral months.
