I have a lump on my tailbone what could that be?

For months my butt has hurt like I broke it. When I sit I am in severe pain and I have to use a donut. I don't remember falling but I assumed I did something to hurt it. Today I felt around the bone and there is a lump on the bone and it is sensitive to the touch. Any idea on what that could be?
