Do I Have To Use Birth Control & Condoms?

I just started my pack of birth control on Sunday June 24, 2012. By accident, I dropped the first pill &lost it. But I took the pill for Monday in its place. Is that okay? Do I have to use condoms if I'm on the pill in general?
