i am almost 18 and sinse i started my period at 13 I have always had cramps but a little rest or some ibuprofen always did the trick. About a year and a half ago they got significantly more painful but i wasn't too concerned, i figured it was normal. but about 8 months ago it got worse again. Now the pain is crippling, and with it comes nausea, diarrhea, dizziness, and vomiting. Once i even blacked out. This starts about 10 min after i start my period and lasts for the first day then tapers off over the next couple days. I have tried all of my old remedies, a hot bath, a heating pad, ibuprofen but nothing helps. I have found that if i take 3 ibuprofen right when my period starts sometimes i can get ahead of it but if i don't catch it in time there's no stopping it. My mom doesn't get cramps so she doesn't understand. Is this a normal part of womanhood? or could something else be going on?
