when taking progesterone and estradiol during menopause is it important to take enough to get your periods again?

I've read that it is important to take the bio-identical creams progesterone and estradiol such that your period will resume. This is so the uterine lining will not build up and possibly result in problems including cancer. I don't really want to get periods again but am concerned about the risks if I don't. Is there a way around it?
