When it comes to getting older, every woman wants to do it gracefully. None of us wants to look like an “old hag.” To age in a healthy way, women have to take precautions. This can involve making changes to our diet, exercise habits or stress levels.
Slowing The Aging Process
Skin cells start to break down when a woman reaches a certain age. The breakdown of those skin cells is what causes us to age in a physical sense. As much as we would all love to, we simply cannot stop ourselves from aging. It is a natural part of life that everyone must deal with. It is how you deal with it that counts. While we can’t stop the aging process, there are steps we can take to slow it down. Some people choose to rely on human growth hormones, but this is generally not recommended because we do not yet know the long-term health effects of human growth hormones. There are much safer ways to slow down the aging process, including cutting as much stress as possible out of your life and adopting better eating habits. A daily dose of multivitamins can also serve to help slow down the aging process.
To keep our skin cells healthy, we need to make sure we get enough Vitamin D. This can be achieved either by spending time in the sun or taking supplements. There have also been recent developments in the medical community that have taught us Vitamin K is also helpful in preventing aging.
Not getting enough nutrients into our bodies can lead to osteoporosis. When it comes to our diet, we are supposed to be eating a small amount of meat and a large amount of vegetables, fruit, legumes, nuts and olive oil. While we do know that the fewer calories one consumes, the longer they are likely to live we don’t yet know the full effects of restricting our calorie intake over the course of a lifetime. It has been found that women who spend a great deal of time trying to restrict their intake of food actually have a shorter life expectancy than those who don’t.
While no one has figured out the secret to stop aging, we do know what we can do to keep it at bay. Only time will tell how women will continue to age and if we can age gracefully.
