A company called Emotional Brain will soon be releasing a wonder-drug called Lybrido, described as the "female Viagra." Last July, they passed their stage-II trials and should be approved by the FDA in about a year or so.
So, why do we need Lybrido?
Here is a short excerpt from the article:
"The DSM-V, published by the American Psychiatric Association, puts HSDD in the category of “Sexual and Gender Identity Disorders,” a category which in the past has included Homosexuality and Transgenderism. Some states have then used the DSM as the reasoning to pass laws which then label disorders as mental illness.
Some would argue that “hypoactive sexual desire disorder” isn’t a disease at all and doesn’t need to be treated. The status of asexuality as a mental illness already reeks of orientation-policing. How long is it going to be before asexuals are acknowledged as a normal part of the broad spectrum of human sexual expression?"
