Ever wonder how Halle Berry got that “purrfect” Catwoman body? She revved up her workouts with celebrity trainer, Harley Pasternak. His A-List bodies also include Jessica Simpson, Hillary Duff, Robert Downey, Jr., Katy Perry, Alicia Keys, Katherine Heigl, Mandy Moore and Orlando Bloom, just to name a few.
In a recent interview Pasternak said he has been, “very blessed to have fantastic clients and be able to train them for specific film roles for different roles.”
His roster of celebrities with starring roles include Megan Fox looking great in her X-Men costume, Lady Gaga who is always costumed, the shirtless John Mayer on Rolling Stone Magazine, new daddy Kanye West and the Leg Warmer, Leotard Queen herself, Jane Fonda.
Pasternak said that he has “incredible clients who are focused, diligent and consistent. Their fame and success result of hard work and in spite of their fame they work hard to move more and eat smarter.”
So how can we mere mortals use Pasternak’s tricks to rev up our metabolism and make us more diligent? He said the key is to “make boring brilliant” and cited a recent survey by Vitamin Water with the same name. Some of the survey specifics as featured on People.com stated that “50.9% of people feel that boredom is a barrier to working out.”
His advice from the survey can literally help you “beat” workout boredom by changing the beat. “When I need a change of pace, I switch it up and pump up the volume, and it always surprises me how a little thing like that can completely change how I feel and move.”
The time excuse is one of the number one reasons 40 percent of people actually do not make it to the gym. Pasternak said that changing your time slot can help you get there and stay motivated.
“Morning gym-goers report better, deeper sleep and lower blood pressure, but afternoon exercisers are more awake which decreases the likelihood of injury.”
Some of his other advice consisted of changing your workout location or finding a workout buddy. Exercise should be part of your daily routine and a healthy competition with friends and family.
“Challenge yourself and others to make fitness part of your entire day. Get a pedometer and try to get in 10,000 steps a day.” Pasternak said this makes for less time in the gym while making it more social as your steps add up.
