My hammet toe is painful even with shoes that allow room and even though I wear a corn pad. The heigth of the shoe is too tight. Also the toe is ugly. I would like to wear open shoes in the summer if possible. My doctor says he can put a pin in my hammer toe. Will that get rid of the enlarged joint? Also he says I should get the bunion fixed as that is what caused the hammer toe . but the bunion does not hurt a lot and I hear recovery can be very long and maybe not successful, plus you could not ever wear a heal even for a special occasion. What do you suggest?
