how long before chewable b 12 1000mcg start working?

im in my 5os and ive been taking 2 chewable B12 1000mcg a day for like a month and still feel no better. (alway tired no energy and was told b 12 is good for energy) im i taking enough? or is it just me? thankyou for any info you can give me.
