A little tablet nicknamed the "little pink pill" could be the answer to female sexual woes. Some are calling it the "female Viagra." It would be the first of its kind on the market if approved by the FDA.
I've been fighting this battle for years to make sure that everyone knows there is such a thing as sexual dysfunction in women. The topic is finally getting needed attention by the media.
I testified on behalf of Flibanserin and sexual dysfunction, specifically HSDD (hypoactive sexual desire disorder). I appeared in front of the FDA when Flibanserin was trying to get its approval. Each woman who testified felt dismissed; our voices, unheard.
We polled women on EmpowHER and over 8,000 of them said they wanted/needed a pink pill. This is about gender specific medicine. It's not a one-size-fits-all but its a start to what the FDA should be doing - which is recognizing the need for sexual health solutions for women's sexual dysfunction.
We cannot stick our heads in the sand anymore and claim this doesn't exist. It's running peoples lives and destroying marriages. Its real and its time we start getting drugs and other treatments passed to deal with what's become a health crisis for women.
The number one topic on EmpowHER's website every single day.... sex and relationships. Time to get into the 21st Century. Recognizing this is a problem is critical in getting the necessary drugs passed we need.

If we don't have the pink pill, men don't need their blue pill. Currently men have 25 different medications and we have zero! Someone has this all wrong.
Men have had the "blue pill" for years. We as women need options.
The conversation doesn't end with the "little pink pill" it continues depending on what type of sexual dysfunction a woman is suffering from.
We aren't going away this time. Its long overdue. Let's start talking about men and women being different. We too need options just like men.
