Hi, I'm almost seventeen, and a few days ago I started my period about a week after my last one. The thing is, it isn't really a "full-blown period". For about 2-3 days its been mostly old blood, however I am still getting some of my regular symptoms like back pain. I am not sexually active, and I exercise frequently. What is happening?
More details: I didn't have my first period until I was 14 and, at that time, my menstrual cycle was irregular for about a year and I had very severe symptoms (like severe back pain and abdominal, inability to drink or eat without vomiting etc). This was partly due to the fact that I had an undiagnosed UTI for a long time (stupid doctor never ran my urine sample after I went to the emergency twice), however I've always wondered if this has any connection to why my periods are so bad. I have fairly heavy flow for the first few days and they last up to a week. My menstrual cycle fluctuates from 21 days to over 30 days. I have never seen a gynecologist (probably should have)...
