Stage One: In this stage of breast cancer, the tumor is 2 cm or less in diameter and has not spread to the lymph nodes or to other places in the body.
Stage Two: This stage of cancer is divided into two main groups. Stage Two (A) and Two (B) cancer. In stage Two (A), the cancer tumor is either less than 2 cm in diameter and spread to the lymph nodes or it is in between 2 cm to 5 cm and has not spread to the auxiliary lymph nodes. Stage Two (B) tumors are either larger than 5 cm without being spread to the lymph nodes or in between 2 cm to 5 cm and has spread to the auxiliary lymph nodes.
Stage Three: In this stage the cancer is locally advanced. The stage Three is divided into two groups: Three (A) and Three (B). In stage Three (A), the tumor is smaller than 5 cm but has spread to the auxiliary lymph nodes, with the nodes attached to each other or other structures, or it is greater than 5 cm with spread to the auxiliary lymph nodes, with the nodes may attached to each other or other structures. In stage Three (B), the tumors have spread to the surrounding tissues such as chest wall or lymph nodes inside the chest wall or the skin.
Stage Four: This stage of cancer is also called as metastatic cancer, meaning the cancer has spread to other parts of the body. Stage Four cancer also gets diagnosed when the tumor is found in the lymph nodes of the neck.
While a healthy diet, early diagnosis and proper breast cancer treatment can decrease the risk of recurring of such type of cancer.
