I am 51 and am on Junel FE to control bleeding that almost put me in the hospital for a blood transfusion due to my non exsistant iron level..it was so bad I had to wear 6-8 overnight pads at a time..i was lucky I could even walk!! My Dr. tried a D&C, it failed, a cryoablation, also failed...the Junel was my last option before a total hysterectomy. I've been taking Junel for the past 2 years..it seems to work most of the time. Some spotting I can deal with for a few days once in awhile. It's when I go off it for the 7 days that my bleeding is still so heavy that I need to wear 3 or more overnight pads at a time. I usually make it for 4-5 days before I go back on the Junel and it takes 3-4 days for it to kick in. Has anyone else had this problem?? I was told 51 was the average age of menopause..i thought I'd be done with this nonsense..!!! Does anyone have any words of wisdom???? Oh and I was told that I have fibroids and a large uterus(C-section at 41 with my daughter)yippee.... more good news!! Thank you all sooooo much!!! :-)
