Hi!
On April 10th I briefly had condom-less intercourse with a friend before he put on a condom. About 3 days later, I developed a fever of 102.5, swollen cervical lymph nodes, swollen tonsils with white patches, and shaking chills. I went to urgent care the next day, and was tested for Strep (both the instant and 48-hour culture) and Mono, both of which came back negative. Regardless of the negative test, the nurse physician prescribed 10 days of amoxicillin, which I took dutifully took. Around day 4 of the antibiotics, I developed a rash on my stomach, back, and butt. Around day 8 or 9, I noticed that my groin lymph nodes were swollen, and freaked out a little bit. I've finished the antibiotics, but my cervical lymph node is still swollen (although I can finally swallow again), and there are still white patches on my tonsils, the rash on my bottom is peeling now and I recently found a white "pimple" close to my labia... I've read that tonsillitis, fever, and rash are indicative of acute HIV ...but I developed the symptoms 3 days after possible exposure...isn't that too soon? And as for the rash, could it be a reaction to amoxicillin? Is the pimple actually herpes? The antibiotics did help the swelling go down, so could it be a combination of a bacterial infection and STD.HIV?
I am so confused, and hate not knowing what is happening to my body.
Thank you so much.
