I apologize for the length of this message, but from the heart, I appreciate your input.
I have a history of a left ovarian cyst, last measured in 2015 and as per report "anechoic avascular cyst 0.8 x 0.8 x 0.9 cm, no free fluid. IMPRESSION: No endometrial thickening postmenopausal patient. Left uniocular 0.9 cm ovarian cyst, is stable postmenopausal cyst".
The cyst was slightly smaller than on the previous ultrasound in 2014. I didn't get an ultrasound done in 2016, and when I went to the OB, she did not want to give me an order for an ultrasound, stating that "she could not feel anything " and that a repeat US was not necessary because the cyst was smaller. I insisted that she give me an order for US and she reluctantly did so. Two weeks prior to my visit I fell on my left side and had cramping on and off a couple of days, and then it went away. That was in July 2016, and to date, I haven't had the US. I am now feeling a slight occasional discomfort in my left ovary area, felt the fullness in my pelvic area as if I were getting my period for a couple of days, and then it went away, but still have the occasional discomfort. Is it possible that a cyst this small in 2015 has converted to "something bad"? I have the order and will make an appointment for the US and then I will see her, since I think that bypassing the office visit will save time to get a faster result.
Any insight or experiences of your own that you could give me would be greatly appreciated as I am terrified and thinking the worst!
