I'm typing this today in hopes of enlightening women like myself who want to know what to expect if your similar to me and my cycle and even help if your not. So I will try to explain my experience using Aftera and Take Action EC pills. So, on March 18th-20th I had unprotected sex for the first time. Me and my partner used the (pull-out method). I'm not on any birth control or any other medications. So then, on the last day which was March 20th, I decide to go get Plan B from the nearest drug store, because I was uncertain if there was a chance of me being pregnant. I went to a local CVS and Plan B was sold out. So the next option was a tablet called Aftera. Which was about 10$ cheaper than Plan B. I took the pill that day immediately after I purchased it. I had unprotected sex for almost 3 days straight. The last time was about 10 a.m. that day. Now keep in mind my cycle starts every 25 days and my periods are regular. My period was due the very next day which was March 21st. I realized it is a very slim chance of getting pregnant the day before your period, but in a panic I took it anyways. Which means my ovulation would have began around March 31st- April 1st. So I was sure my period would come on time. Surprisingly, my period was delayed 4 days so those 4 days were a complete hell for me. The first sign of my period showing up was the first day when I got brown discharge that I would normally get towards the end of my period. So first thought came to mind was, "I'm pregnant and this must be implantation bleeding". It wasn't heavy but I figure the huge does of hormones just jacked me up and it did. The next day I had a very dark red color and it was my full on period. It lasted the same amount of days my normal period would.
Now here is my second experience with a different EC pill and a different time frame from my other cycle story: So on April 26th I had unprotected sex with my partner again, (rolling my eyes and smh) all the way up to the 30th. This time things are a bit different. Each of these days were my fertile days. The first day was protected, but the following days were not protected. We used the pull out method again. But one particular day (April 27th later that night) he pulled out and the ejaculation fell on my vagina area. In a panic I rushed to the bathroom and rinsed off all of the ejaculation that was seen. So I tried to forget about it and not be such a worry wart. But then I remembered that my ovulation day was right around the corner which would have been April 30th since my last period started right on time on April 18th and it lasted its normal 5-6 days ending on April 23rd. So I went to Target and as usual, Plan B was sold out (people must use it a lot) and Aftera wasn't sold there so the next best thing was the pill called Take Action EC tablet 1.5mg. Both of those pills are instructed to take within 3 days which is 72 hours after unprotected sex. Again I'm not on any form of birth control or medication. So I took the pill on the 3rd day after having unprotected sex. This time I was much more nervous because it was my most fertile week and some where around that week I would ovulate, so I was really praying hard that I wasn't pregnant. But if so I would keep the baby because I don't have the guts to go through abortion and risking never begin able to have a child. Which these pills are a great alternative and less harsh. So the 3 week wait was on. My next Period wasn't due until may 13th-16th. So I didn't experience any symptoms that were written down for the side effects after taking an EC. I wasn't looking for symptoms because I didn't have any the last time I took the other EC, Aftera. So for weeks nothing happen until the last week going into when my period was due. I got Acne on my jawline. I craved my usually salty-sweet things. I was bloated. I didn't have cramps. My breast were not swore of swollen like I usually am when I do have my period. so May 13th hit and I had not signs of my period which that was the 1st day I was expected to have it. I was hoping I did because my cycle was pretty much always on time and it happens every 25 days. But I wasn't too shocked because I had another 5 days for it to come and not be so worried. later that night I got brown spotting but it was very hard to see unless you had excellent vision. I went to wipe I saw a tad and I do mean a tad bit for what looked like a very very light pink color. I waited, went to check again and this time I wiped I saw a deeper brown color. The next morning, no sign of any brown or pink spotting or discharge so I started to worry and tried not to think about it after. So the middle of the day I felt a bit damped. So I went to check, (BTW I wear pantyliners everyday so I don't ruin any under wear.) What I saw was some dark brownish discharge a little bit darker than last time but I couldn't find any traces of red to see if it was old tissue begin pushed out my body. So for that whole day nothing came again not even brown. So the next morning would make it the 15th of May, I finally saw a dark vibrant red that I would normally see. So I'm pretty sure you know what that means. Cramps and everything came rushing in as normal and I had my full period. I pray this helps some of you ladies going through the same thing. Its hard begin a women. So I hope the article helps someone in need in this time. Love you and God bless!! <3
