Would a trigger finger be caused by overuse and trauma from carpal tunnel surgery?

A carpal tunnel surgery was preformed on the right hand.
Had to use left hand more. and now possible surgery on the left hand?
Have middle trigger finger on the left and thumb on the right.
Was not a problem before working a very physical job.
Workmen's compensation does not want to pay for the treatment.
