Hi I have had diagnosed PID for 5 now. I have had scans and a colposcopy which initially showed swollen Fallopian tubes and ovaries and fluid filled reproductive system with cystic ovaries and evidence of a ruptured cyst which “seemed to be resolving itself.” Follow up scan showed improvement from what my doctor told me, having viewed results, but still had swelling and cysts. At the time of the follow up scan I was told they couldn’t see any fluid indicating infection so I thought phew antibiotics are working! But..,, no! I have now been on antibiotics for 2 weeks at a time with about about a week before it’s back again :( I’m exhausted, quite suddenly sometimes, hot flushes, pain in lower pelvis/cervix area. Literally my ovaries hurt! Fluid retention is unreal in my legs and swollen pelvis! The list goes on but basically feel awful, stressed, scared! I have been put back on antibiotics each time the symptoms return and have tried to slow down work requirements but can’t afford to take more time off! The thing is I only start to feel better at the end of the 2 week course. The antibiotics only seem to stabilising the condition then I get a burst of feeling normal for a few days before symptoms build up and I’m back on the meds again! Why won’t it go?!!!
I am 31 and single hoping to have the chance of a relationship and although heartbreakingly becoming a doubtful wish, becoming a mother some day. This illness has taken over my life for so long now why am so angry Mable to shift it? I eat well and as clean as I can and drink plenty of water. I need more rest and less but doesn’t everyone!
I am waiting on a re-referral appointment to look into why this keeps coming back with the gynaecologist but could do with any advice anyone may have?
