The goal of the National Kidney Disease Education Program, which was founded by the National Institutes of Health, is to reduce death and disability caused by kidney diseases. It focuses on people who are more likely to get kidney disease, especially African Americans with high blood pressure, diabetes, or a family history of kidney disease. This site provides information on how to speak with your family about kidney disease and on how to prevent kidney disease. It also offers videos, brochures, and fact sheets, which can be downloaded from the site.
